Who we are

Jain Indians Overseas (jiocooling.com) is an independent, research-led information project. This page explains how we handle information when you use the website. You can contact us at any time through the contact page.

Information you give us

If you use the contact, community or enquiry forms, we receive what you type: for example your email address, country, the product you are asking about, your message and any link you include. We ask only for what we need, and we ask you not to include sensitive personal information.

Your entry is sent to Formspree (formspree.io), the service that receives form submissions for us, and is then delivered to us so we can read and moderate it. Formspree processes it under its own privacy policy.

How we use it

We do not sell your information and we do not use it for advertising.

  • To reply to you and to research the product or question you raised.
  • To moderate community submissions before anything is published.
  • To improve the guides, for example by noticing which questions are asked often.

What we publish

We never publish your contact details. Community questions and evidence may be summarised or quoted on the site only after moderation, and evidence is quoted only where you have given permission. Community anecdotes are labelled as anecdotes.

Your country choice

The country selector saves your chosen country in your browser's local storage so your choice persists between pages. It stays on your device, is not sent to us, and we never infer your location. Choose “All countries” or clear site data to remove it.

Cookies and analytics

The website does not set advertising cookies and does not currently include analytics. If we add privacy-friendly analytics or any non-essential cookies, we will update this page first and, where required, ask for your consent.

How long we keep information

We keep messages for as long as needed to answer them and to maintain the research record they contributed to, and delete personal contact details on request or when they are no longer needed.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live (for example under UK or EU data-protection law, Canadian privacy law, Australian privacy law or US state laws), you may have the right to ask what we hold about you, to correct it, to have it deleted, or to object to how it is used. Use the contact page to make a request; we will respond within a reasonable time.

Changes to this page

We will update this page and its date when our practices change. This version is a draft prepared for the concept stage and should be reviewed by a qualified adviser before the website is promoted widely.
